In some cases when building a website in Joomla you don’t want users to be able to register from the front end.

If you have a website that has access to members only and you want to add and manage the users yourself via admin, you can disable user registration inf Joomla 2.5 by following this simple process.

1. Log into the backend (administrator area)

2. Click on “User Manager” > Options (Icon on the top right) > Component > Allow User Registration > SELECT “No”

3. Save

Now if you go to the front end you will see that the option for “Don’t have an account?” from the log-in page and log-in module in Joomla has been removed.

You will still be able to add users via the backend.

Hope this tip from I-Tech Web Design North Wales Helps!
